Troy, MI January 25 2004--Auburn MetalFab, Inc. today announced the first compact-retractable Heavy-Duty Bed Extender for pick-up trucks. The patented hide-a-bed Xtender is designed to fold down to two inches when not in use, compared to other bulky “flip-down” designs. The Xtender provides an additional 2 feet of cargo space. It is ideal for all short beds and 8 foot beds with tool boxes.

The Xtender is designed for easy installation. It is made of heavy gage diamond plate aluminum with a bright-guard finish to protect against oxidation. Side panels are secured with clips to OEM tailgate receptors. The Xtender is compatible with bed caps and covers.
